More Pictures of Boracay

If a picture paints a thousand words, then this post would be equivalent to a term paper on a four-day Boracay Island adventure!

We hope to go to Bohol next year. I hope it happens.

Wild Orchid Resort Subic

Today we went to Wild Orchid Resort, with expenses paid by my husband's company. Yay! We get to have fun, free!

Wild Orchid Resort is near the famous White Rock Beach, which is just a bit outside the Subic Freeport zone. The hotel and resort has its own pools, one for kids and the other for adults. Visitors could also opt to go to the beach for some fun activities. The resort looks really nice. It has more than a hundred rooms. The room we stayed in is a suite type with a king-sized bed, a writing table, a small dining table, and a jacuzzi.

I'd like to stay once again in this resort if we visit Subic once more for an adventure trip.

The 5-mile stretch of sand in Boracay

The reason Boracay island is the most popular in the Philippines is because of its white sand that people could walk on barefoot even during the heat of the summer.

Just walking along the shore or playing in the sand can be extremely fun and relaxing, especially since the chalets and hotels, as well as the variety of restaurants, are just a few feet away. At night, bands play for vacationers for free, and one can listen while lying down on the sand and looking at the stars. Boracay is truly a paradise away from the busy life.

And as if not content with the beauty of the sand, the island is such a flurry of activities, some of which could be truly unforgettable.

Banana boat ride at Boracay Island

For a middle-class family to attempt to go to Boracay Island Philippines is a risky proposition. If you would really like to, then save a lot of money, so you could spend a lot.
What fun things to do?
Lots!
Take the Banana boat ride (named as such because it uses a rubber boat shaped like a banana). It's just a 20-minute ride for P200 per person, but it's well worth the money! We had kids with us and they enjoyed the ride tremendously. They even wanted a repeat, but we ran out of money already. If the the group is all-adults, the rubber boat is flipped after some time so that the riders fall into the water. That's because riders are equipped with just life vests (there are no safety belts). Riders have to hold on to the handles very tightly. I don't think people can say: "Look, mommy, no hands!"

I would talk about other adventures in the next blogs.

La Carmela de Boracay is a good place to stay in Boracay

If you want to have a memorable visit to Boracay Philippines but are on a tight budget, then you could try La Carmela de Boracay. It has a swimming pool that's especially useful if you're gonna bring your kids, and the rooms have wifi, hot and cold shower, and are very attractive. And if you're fond of the nightlife that Boracay is famous for, then you'll be staying in the right place as there are happenings right in front of the resort in the summer. This resort enjoys a beachfront.

We were able to book a deluxe room for just $67 per night, and this room can be shared by up to four (4) people.

La Carmela is in the top 10 resorts on this island, and is in Agoda.com so you could easily make reservations.

Other world-class hotels there (if you have enough savings to spend) are The Regency, Shang-ri La Boracay, Monaco, Fairways and Bluewater, and even Manny Pacquiao's resort in Station 1.

My Pretty Mariah

Mariah is 11 years old and I'm very proud of being the mom of a pretty girl. She's very good in art work - in fact she was the one who created my profile banner in this blog. I hope I could help her become a great artist someday.

The Boracay experience

From March 21 to 24, 2010, we visited Boracay Island in Aklan.

It's the first time the kids (Mariah and Ayen) experienced riding an airplane, and all they said was that it was painful to the ears!

Boracay is full of interesting things to see and do. I just wish I got more money to try them all. Hahaha!

We tried island hopping and banana boat ride. I recommend island hopping for those who have a death wish. We almost died due to the strong and big waves! Banana boat ride is safer yet more exhilarating. I wish I can try parasailing, but it costs P2,500.00

My only regret is that Lorraine, my bunso, was not with us, but it's another story.
